PSI Athlete of The Month: Mikayda Mills

Accomplishments:

Mikayda Mills has earned the “PSI Athlete of the Month” honor for her many accomplishments in her sport and in the classroom! The junior at Palo Verde High School swims for Coach Mike Polk of the Boulder City Heatwave Swim Team and was the 2008 State Club Champion in the 50 freestyle posting a time of 24.61, a record which still stands for Palo Verde High School. She was honored for her many swimming accomplishments by being named 2007-08 Palo Verde High School Female Swimmer of the Year. In addition to her many accolades in the pool, Mikayda excels in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society and receiving NIAA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2006-07 and 2007-08.

Mikayda has been consistently training at PSI for well over year. She continues to set personal records every time she jumps in the pool. Mikayda’s strength since she has started training has drastically improved. She couldn’t do a single pull-up when she started at PSI and now she consistently does multiple sets of 10 to 15 repetitions. We look forward to continued success in the pool from Mikayda this year!!
